Appendix A. Upgrading GFS
127
Note
The
gfs_conf
command uses the node names shown in the GFS 5.1.x CIDEV as the node
names in the
nodes.ccs
file. GFS 5.2.x requires those names to match the hostname of each
node.
After the
cluster.ccs
,
nodes.ccs
, and
fence.ccs
files are in place, the
license.ccs
file
must be copied into the same directory as those files. The
license.ccs
file is obtained with
the GFS software.
Command usage:
gfs_conf -d
CIDEVName
-u
ClusterName
Command usage:
gfs_conf -f
ConfigFile
-u
ClusterName
CIDEVName
Specifies the name of the GFS 5.1.x CIDEV device.
ConfigFile
Specifies the name of a GFS 5.1.x configuration file (often
gfs.cf
).
ClusterName
Specifies the name of the GFS 5.2.x cluster.
Example:
In the following example,
gfs_conf
creates a directory named
alpha
containing the CCS
files
cluster.ccs
,
nodes.ccs
, and
fence.ccs
corresponding to the GFS 5.1.x CIDEV
/dev/pool/pool0_cidev
. The
license.ccs
file is then added to the directory.
gfs_conf -d /dev/pool/pool0_cidev -u alpha
cp ~/license.ccs alpha/
6. Rename CIDEV pool using the following naming convention:
ClusterName_cca
The GFS 5.1.x CIDEV pool can be used with GFS 5.2.x. GFS 5.2.x refers to this device as the
CCA device. It is recommended that you name the pool device using the
ClusterName_cca
naming convention.
Command usage:
pool_tool -r
NewPoolName CurrentPoolName
Reference: Section 5.10
Renaming a Pool Volume
Example:
pool_tool -r alpha_cca pool0_cidev
7. Activate pools on all nodes.
Command usage:
pool_assemble -a
Reference: Section 5.6
Activating/Deactivating a Pool Volume
Example:
pool_assemble -a
