A.1.2. GFS License
In GFS 5.1.x, the license file had to be installed using
gfs_tool
when the file system was first
mounted after creation. In GFS 5.2.x, the license file,
license.ccs
, is one of the CCS configuration
files saved on the CCA device. There is no step needed to install the license after the CCS files have
been written to the CCA device.
Table A-2 summarizes the GFS license installation difference between GFS 5.1.x and GFS 5.2.x.

A.1.3. GFS LockProto
If the LOCK_GULM locking method was used with GFS 5.1.x, the
LockProto
field in the GFS
superblock does not need to be changed. If the LOCK_DMEP locking method was used with GFS
5.1.x, the
LockProto
field in the superblock needs to be changed to begin using LOCK_GULM.
(Although LOCK_DMEP is still supported in GFS 5.2.x, LOCK_GULM is the recommended locking
method.)
A.1.4. GFS LockTable
The string used as the GFS
LockTable
when a file system is created (the
gfs_mkfs
command with
the
-t
option) has been changed. In GFS 5.1.x, the
LockProto
field is
FSName
for LOCK_GULM,
and
CIDEVName
for LOCK_DMEP. In GFS 5.2.x, the
LockProto
field is a compound expression,
ClusterName:FSName
. (A colon with no spaces separates
ClusterName
and
FSName
.)
Table A-3 summarizes the differences in command usage for
LockTable
between GFS 5.1.x and
GFS 5.2.x.
