Mounting in a Restricted Area
If an obstruction prevents installation of the drive
unit as supplied, the main body can be rotated
relative to the mounting bracket as follows (Fig.
33):
•
Remove the 2 fixing screws and gently slide
the cover forwards, ensuring that the four
cables do not pull from the plus inside the
cover.
•
Slacken off the lock nut and rotate the main
body as required
•
Retighten the lock nut securely and make
sure that the lock nut is no more than one turn
from the start of the thread.
•
Replace the cover taking care not to trap any
cables.
Using the steering wheel move from hard over to
hard over and check that no part of the drive unit
touches any part of the vessel/fittings.
Cable Connection
•
Plug in the power cable supplied with the
drive unit making sure that the connector is
locked in place by turning the locking ring
clockwise.
•
Route the cable back to the course computer.
Secure the cable close to the drive unit but
allowing sufficient free length to accommodate
the drive unit movement.
•
Once again using the steering wheel to -move
the rudder from hard over to hard over and
check that the cable does not catch on any
part of the vessel/fittings.
