10.
Install cable assembly and motor as-
sembly onto the rear of the barrel. See
"Cable Assembly Replacement" proce-
dures in the "Maintenance" section.
11.
Install the resistor (item 100) and spring
(item 11) back into the drive shaft (item
9). Install the cable/motor assembly per
steps 7 through 9 in "Cable Assembly
Replacement" in the "Maintenance" sec-
tion.
When driving the resistor housing out of
the barrel, take care not to strike the dowel to
hard and damage the barrel. If the resistor
housing does not move with gentle tapping,
soak the barrel again in solvent and try again
to drive it out. If all attempts fail to remove
the resistor housing, contact your local
Ransburg representative for service.

4.
Clean the resistor housing area of the
barrel with the nonconductive solvent to
remove all of the old yellow contact ce-
ment. With an air nozzle, blow the gun
dry of all solvent residue.
5.
Apply contact cement (item 84) from just
behind the o-ring (item 14B) to the back
end of resistor housing (item 14A).
6.
Press the resistor housing (item 14A)
into the front of the barrel (item 14), leav-
ing a 1/16-inch space (inset) from the
rear face of the barrel.
7.
Clean all excess contact cement from
the face of the barrel with a rag that is
dampened with nonconductive solvent.
8.
Set the barrel (item 14) aside for 24
hours to allow the contact cement to dry.
9.
Once the contact cement has dried, re-
assemble the gun.

Unscrew nut (item 3) and pull the drive
shaft (item 9) with all ceramic seal com-
ponents attached out of the barrel (item
14). Remove the resistor (item 10) and
spring (item 11) from the drive shaft and
set them aside for safe keeping.

1.
All other components of the gun assem-
bly must be removed from the barrel
(item 14). Refer to "Cable and Motor As-
sembly", "Handle Assembly Replace-
ment", "High Voltage Resistor Replace-
ment", "Ceramic Seal Replacement",
and "Shaft Resistor Replacement" in the
"Maintenance" section.
2.
Soak the barrel in nonconductive solvent
for several minutes to loosen the yellow
contact cement.
3.
With a 15-inch long x 1/2 to 5/8-inch di-
ameter wooden or plastic dowel either
press the resistor housing (item 14A) out
of the barrel (item 14) in an arbor press
or drill press, or with a soft hammer drive
the resistor housing (item 14A) out. With
the latter, set the barrel (item 14) in an
open vise so that the resistor housing
(item 14A) clears and the black face of
the barrel sets on top of vise. (Do not
support the barrel on the threaded phe-
nolic bearing.)
