FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Left Side (as you sit on the bike)
•
Starting on the left-hand side of the bike, using your ratchet, remove the engine bolt
arrowed in picture 1 (DO NOT REMOVE BOTH ENGINE BOLTS AT THE SAME TIME).
•
Assemble the left-hand side assembly as shown in LHS assembly diagram (page 2)
ensuring to use the longer 130mm M12 bolt (item 7).
•
Next slide the M12 washer (item 5), followed by locking washer (item 6) and one crash
bobbin (item 1) so that the serrated edge of the locking washer sits against the recessed
inner face of the bobbin.
•
Place the longer LHS spacer S0325 (item 3) over the end of the bolt protruding from the
bobbin.
•
Leaving the OEM washer in place (as in picture 2), pass the bolt and bobbin assembly
in place of the previously removed LHS engine bolt as shown in picture 3.
•
PLEASE NOTE THE CRASH PROTECTOR MUST BE POSITION
ED AS IN PICTURE ‘A’ WITH
BIGGER END TOWARD FRONT OF BIKE.
•
Tighten the bolt to the manufacturers specified torque, ensuring the bobbin and spacer
are tight against the frame as in picture 3.
Right Side (as you sit on the bike)
•
The right-side fits in a similar way to the left side, using your ratchet, remove the right-
hand side engine bolt arrowed in picture 4.
•
Assemble the right-hand side assembly as shown in RHS assembly diagram (page 2)
ensuring to use the shorter 100mm M12 bolt (item 8)
•
Next slide the M12 washer (item 5), followed by locking washer (item 6) and one crash
bobbin (item 1) so that the serrated edge of the locking washer sits against the recessed
inner face of the bobbin.
•
Place the RHS spacer S0027 (item 4) over the end of the
bolt
protruding from the
bobbin.
•
Leaving the OEM washer in place (as in picture 2), pass the bolt and bobbin assembly
in place of the previously removed RHS engine bolt as shown in picture 4.
•
PLEASE NOTE THE CRASH PROTECTOR MUST BE POSITIONED AS IN PICTURE ‘A’ WITH
BIGGER END TOWARD FRONT OF BIKE.
•
Tighten the
bolt
to the manufacturers specified torque, ensuring the bobbin and spacer
are tight against the frame as in picture 5.
•
If not already fitted, fit bubble stickers into recess of both crash protector caps.
•
Fit crash protector caps into both crash protectors as shown in picture 6.
