6.2 ADJUSTING THE GRIND
This is the fi rst step in calibrating the machine to the roast of bean which is being
served. This will need to be done using the beans that will be served.
TIP: Pull a shot fi rst and see how machine is pouring prior to adjusting the grind.
STEPS FOR ADJUSTING GRINDER
WITHOUT GRINDER ADJUSTMENTS INSTALLED
1.
Remove the screw holding the front door closed. Swing the door open.
2.
Find the grinders on the inside of the machine. On the top of both grinders you
will fi nd an adjustment plate.
3.
Insert a fl at headed screwdriver into the slot on the adjustment plate. Apply a
gentle downward pressure on the screw driver to lift the plate free of the notches
that are holding it in place.
4.
Turn the collar on the top of the grinder to adjust the grind.
Finer grind
= Turn collar clockwise
Courser grind
= Turn collar counter clockwise
5.
Make sure that the adjustment plate is securely held in place by the notches
before removing the screwdriver from the slot.
Please note: While one notch is a seemingly small adjustment, it can greatly affect the resulting rind. Use
small turns, one notch at a time, to adjust the grinder burrs until the correct grind is reached.

Using a Phillips head screwdriver remove the screw which locks the door and
swing the door open.
WARNING: do not loose this screw.

Choose the grinder which needs to be adjusted. Turn the knob one or two
clicks, close the door and test a product.
KEY TO ADJUSTMENT
For the RIGHT grinder:
Finer grind = Turn the knob clockwise
Courser grind = Turn the knob counter-clockwise
For the LEFT grinder:
Finer grind = Turn the knob counter-clockwise
Courser grind = Turn the knob clockwise
