OPERATING MODES
‘Mode’ refers to a specifi c style of operation of the machine. The machine operates in a different manner in each mode or,
alternatively, other operations are carried out.
The machine is equipped to operate in six different modes; modes 4 and 5 can only be accessed by the service technician
and are protected by a PIN code: The current mode is indicated when the key is inserted in the mode selector and turned
1/4 turn clockwise.

CHANGE THE OPERATING MODE
To change the Operating Mode of the machine you need the programming key. Two copies of
the programming key are provided with each machine.
M_0: Standby
1.
Insert the programming key into the lock on the front of the machine.
2.
Turn the key clockwise (to the right) 1/4 turn
3.
Press the appropriate button of the mode
you would like (0,1,2,3,4 or 5).
EXPLANATIONS OF MODES
Mode 0:
Standby mode:
this mode deactivates
all buttons of the machine.
Mode 1:
Normal mode:
this is the normal operating mode.
Mode 2:
Register mode
: this mode is used when the machine is connected to a cash register system.
Mode 3:
Customer manager mode:
this mode is used to check product totals and to change simple parameters for each
product, such as, grams and water volume.
Mode 4:
Technical menu mode...:
this mode is for advanced programming and diagnostic testing. Please do not access
this mode unless you have been properly certifi ed, by Rancilio through either a Train the Trainer Course or a Service
Technician Course.
Mode: 5:
Heaters OFF:
this mode is used by technicians to turn off the heating elements of the boilers, so they may
safety service the equipment.
ENTER PROGRAMMING MODE:
1. Turn Key.
2. Press button #4.
3. Enter PIN CODE... 1849 by
pressing the 1, 8, 4, and 9 button
on the keypad.
