3.2. Alkaline Battery Adapter

The AA Alkaline battery adapter supplied by RAE Systems
is intrinsically safe!

An alkaline battery adapter is supplied with each QRAE PLUS
kit. It accepts three AA alkaline batteries (Duracell MN1500 or
Energizer E-91 only) and can be used in place of the Li-ion
battery pack, as shown below, to provide approximately 6 hours
of operation. The adapter is intended to be used in emergency
situations when there is no time to charge the Li-ion battery
pack.

The internal charging circuit of QRAE PLUS will automatically
detect the alkaline battery adapter and prevent the charging of
alkaline batteries.

NOTE

: The monitor draws power from the battery pack even

when the power is turned off. It is very important to disconnect
the battery pack before servicing or replacing sensors or any
other components inside the monitor. Severe damage to the
circuit board may occur if the battery pack is not disconnected
before servicing the unit.
