Licensing Mechanism
The license for Alteon Application Switch determines the maximum throughput and the features that
the device supports.
For information on all the licensing procedures mentioned in this section, see the Alteon Application
Switch Operating System Command Reference.
Radware Permanent License
The Radware permanent license is a string that is associated with an individual device and includes
all the supported features (keys). When you purchase subsequent features, the permanent license
string is modified to include the new supported features as well as the old ones. To enable the new
features, you must install the new permanent license string, which is supplied by Radware Technical
Support. Each new permanent license string that is installed replaces the old permanent license
string.
Radware Alteon Permanent License Syntax
The permanent license string that you get from Radware Technical Support has the following syntax:
aas-slb-[<feature1>-<feature2>-<featureN>-password
where:
•
feature1
through
featureN
are strings representing separately licensed Radware features
Table 11 - Radware Alteon License Keys, page 66
).
•
password
is the password you receive from Radware Technical Support, based on the Base MAC
address of the platform.
The following table maps the license keys to the supported features. The order of the features
(keys) in the table is the order that the features (keys) appear in the license string.
