15.8. Minimum Sample Weight
Weighing mode settings comprise <Minimum sample weight> function. In order to use the
function it is necessary to enter data related to minimum sample weight determination
methods and minimum sample weight values for a given method. The data must be entered
to < Minimum sample weight> database. The database is empty in standard balance
version.
Determining minimum sample weight and adding data to the: <Minimum sample
weights> database can be carried out by an authorized “RADWAG” personnel
exclusively.
Should you use the minimum sample weight function, and need data on minimal sample
weight to be entered to balance menu, please contact the local representative of “RADWAG”
company. Using reference weights, the authorized RADWAG employee determines
minimum sample weight for specified tare containers. This operation is carried out at the
place of use and in accordance with requirements of the applied quality system. The
obtained values are entered to balance software: <Minimum sample weights> database.
For a particular method of minimum sample weight determination, it is possible to define few
tare values along with values of minimum sample weights, expiry dates of the carried out
measurements and entered data. The settings are not to be edited by a balance user.
<Minimum sample weight> function guarantees that the results of weighing operation are
comprised within the set tolerance, in accordance with applied quality management system
of particular company.
CAUTION: Function valid for weighing mode exclusively.
Available options:
•
METHOD
Option allowing you to select used quality standard. Press METHOD field to open a
window with a list of database-stored methods by means of which the minimum sample
weights were determined. In order to add a new method enter <Databases /Minimum
sample weights>.

MODE
Block – select to display pictograms informing you on status of weighed mass
(weighed mass below/above minimum sample weight) and to disable accepting the
measurement result if it is below the minimum sample weight limit.
Warn – select to enable display of respective pictograms informing you about the
measured mass (whether it is lower than the MSW value or higher than the MSW
value). You can accept the measurement that is lower than the MSW value. Mind that
on a printout it will be preceded by an asterisk (*).

values can be entered by an authorized RADWAG personnel exclusively.
Weighing with use of <MINIMUM SAMPLE WEIGHT> function
If in the course of weighing you want to find out whether a particular measurement value is
higher than the MSW value, specified for a given weighing range, then <Minimum sample
weight> function must be on. To turn the function on go to weighing mode settings.
Procedure:
1. Press grey workspace area.
2. The following submenus are displayed: Settings, Buttons, Information, Printouts,
Profile.
3. Select <Settings> menu - additional weighing process options.
