4. How to Operate
4.1 Data logging by the local PC
RN172 is a suitable product for establishing an integrated monitoring server through the wireless
internet. It is used to transmit the data gathered by UA10, UA11, etc. The image above is an example of a
configuration of the monitoring server through the intranet, without being connected to the internet. It
may automatically be assigned an IP or the user may manually assign a fixed IP to it. The Tapaculo Lite
software provided as a part of the package is used to detect a device and to make requests for the data
to the device. The data received from the device is saved in the DB.
4.2 Data logging in a remote location
Via the internet, the product can be used to gather information from other devices located in a remote
place. Each RN172 device will do with a private IP from the internet router. No separate public IP is
necessary. Tapaculo365.com supports data gathering. It provides free accounts, with which you can use up
to 20 data channels. The registration of the device is done by inputting the MAC address indicated on the
side of the RN172 unit.
