2.1. FIRST START-UP
2.1.1. PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
FOR FIRST START-UP
The first start-up operations consist of checking
the correct installation, adjustment and operation
of the device. Proceed as follows:
› Make sure all water lines connected to the boiler
have been thoroughly flushed prior to first used.
It is critical that all installation/ construction
debris has been removed from the system
before firing the boiler for the first time.
› Check the inner components and ensure
that they are sealed in accordance with the
specifications provided and by standard and
regulations.
› Check if the gas used is suitable for the boiler;
› Check if the gas capacity and relative pressures
comply with those on the rating plate;
› Check the operation of the safety device in case
of lack of gas;
› Make sure that the device supply voltage
corresponds with that on the plate (120 V – 60
Hz) and that the wiring is correct;
› Make sure that the grounding system works
properly;
› Make sure that the combustion air circulation,
exhaust and condensate discharge take place
properly in compliance with the Local and
National Laws and Standards in force;
› Make sure that the venting and their connections
and comply with the requirements of the Local
and National Laws and Standards;
› Make sure that the heating system valves are
open;
› Make sure that there is no intake of gaseous
products within the system;
› Make sure that there are no flammable liquids
or materials near the device;
› Open the boiler gas valve and make sure that
there are no gas leaks upstream from the device
(the burner gas connection must be checked
while the unit is running);
› In case of new installation of the gas supply
network, the air inside the gas line may lockout
the device at first start-up. Repeat the start-up
procedure to purge all the air inside the gas line.
