CHAPTER 6 MAINTENANCE
6-1 GENERAL.
This chapter provides organizational maintenance instructions for the bi-directional repeater. This includes operational
checkout, inspection and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and removal/replacement procedures.
6-2 OPERATIONAL CHECKOUT.
Perform the procedures in paragraphs 6-2.1 through 6-2.5 to check the bi-directional repeater for normal operation. These
checks should be performed when equipment is used for the first time, when the equipment has been damaged, or if the
equipment has not been used for an extended period of time.
NOTE
Prior to conducting the operational checkout, the receiver-transmitter used in the test must be
properly programmed and configured. Refer to TO 31R2-2PRC139-1.
6-2.1 Power-up Verification.
Check the bi-directional repeater power-up operation as follows:
a. Ensure that the antenna has been installed as indicated in paragraph 2-10.1. Refer to the bi-directional
repeater interconnection diagram (Figure 8-1).
b. Set the bi-directional repeater switches and controls as indicated in Table 6-1.

c. Set the AC/DC POWER switch to AC or DC, as applicable. Verify that the green POWER LED (5,
Figure 4-1) is the only LED illuminated.
6-2.2 Display Off Control.
Check the functionality of the DISPLAY switch as follows:
a. Place the DISPLAY switch (1, Figure 4-1) in the OFF position. Verify that the green POWER LED
(5, Figure 4-1) goes off.
b. Set the DISPLAY switch to ON. Verify that the green POWER LED illuminates.
