5. COMPONENTS
5.7. Tires and preferred pressure
The tires on your bike are suitable for almost all types of terrain, with
good grip on wet asphalt as well. Tire pressure has a large influence on
the range of your battery and the comfort of your ride. It is advisable to
always keep your tires at the right pressure, which is indicated on the
sides of the tire. As a reference, you should be able to slightly compress
the tire with your thumb when pressing firmly.
5.8. Rear carrier
Your QWIC Atlas e-bike is equipped with a specially developed
rear carrier. This carrier is approved for a load of 25kg
and can easily be combined with most bicycle bags, baskets and
child seats thanks to the integrated MIK system. Ask your dealer
for an overview of the available products or visit
www.mik-click.com
5.6. Belt drive
The Atlas Vario version is equipped with a belt drive. A belt drive is ideal
for powerful e-bike motors such as the Brose mid-engine. The belt
is silent in use and very maintenance-friendly because the tension is
retained longer. A properly installed belt can be used for up to 25,000 km
without having to be replaced.
Maintenance
As you do not need to lubricate a belt, it is a lot cleaner compared to a
chain. As a result, no chain guard is needed when using a belt drive. If
needed, you can clean the belt with water. Do not use a high-pressure
cleaner, as this could cause damage to other parts of the bicycle.
Belt tension
Proper belt tension is key to optimal performance. If the belt is too tight,
it can cause drag and damage the hub. If the belt is too loose it can skip
teeth and slip. If you notice either of these, the belt tension should be
adjusted. Contact your dealer to get your belt checked.
bell
In case any teeth are broken from the belt, please contact your
dealer directly.
bell
It is important to properly align the belt. If the alignment is not
perfect, the belt will wear down more quickly and cause noise.
A belt cannot be pried or pushed of the chainwheel like regular
chains. Only let an accredited dealer service your belt drive.
