Note:
This is the standard method of adding a printer in OS/2
version 1.x. The procedure is repeated here for your convenience.
Add a Printer

With the Print Manager open, from the Setup menu choose
Printers...

In the Printers dialog box, choose Add...

Note:
If you’re working with an existing printer, select the printer
name and choose Change.
The Add Printer (or Change Printer) dialog box appears.

In the Name field, type the printer name (only if you are add-
ing a printer).
The printer name is local to the workstation and is used to
associate queues with physical printers. It can be the same
as the name used at the printer.

In the Device box, select the printer’s pipe name.
Pipe names have the form \PIPE\QMS_
name
where
name
is
the printer’s default hardware address or the printer name
set in the “Interface Configuration” section, earlier in this
chapter.

Select IBMNULL as the printer driver.

If appropriate, fill in the Description and Printer Timeout
Transmission Retry boxes.

Choose Add... to return to the Printers dialog box.

If you’re working with an existing printer, choose Change.

In the Printers dialog box, choose OK to return to the Print
Manager.
