Opening QuickTools
After the switch is operational, open the QuickTools web applet by entering the
switch IP address in an Internet browser. If your workstation does not have the
Java 2 Run Time Environment program, you will be prompted to download it. The
Add a New Fabric dialog (
Figure 1-1
) prompts you for your username and
password. Click the
Add Fabric
button to open the fabric.

The opening window is displayed (
Figure 1-3
). For security reasons, you will be
prompted to change your user account password that was initially set up by the
administrator (
Figure 1-2
). You will be prompted to change the password each
time you attempt to open the fabric until you change the default password. Click
the
OK
button, and change the user account password. Refer to
”Managing User
Accounts” on page 3-8
for more information.
