There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects to
your health, clean the device before you
fi
rst use it (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).

Only ever use fresh drinking water for boiling. Do not use any water that comes from a
bath, wash basin or other containers.
❐
Keep the device clean to prevent the formation of germs.
Correct Set-Up and Connection
❐
The device should only be used in closed rooms.
❐
Always place the device on a dry, level,
fi
rm and heat-resistant surface.
❐
Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, strong temperature
fl
uctuations,
direct sunlight or moisture.
❐
Maintain a suf
fi
cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not to
damage the devices.
❐
The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must match
the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only use suitable ex-
tension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.

Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become
caught and pull the device down.
❐
Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
Proper Use
❐
Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. If the device, the
cable or the plug shows visible signs of damage, the device must not be used. Do not use
the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped.
❐
If the device is broken, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In the event of any damage,
contact our customer service department.
❐
Only use accessories which are recommended by the manufacturer.
❐
Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
❐
Do not leave the device switched on when it is unattended.
❐
Take the kettle off the base station to
fi
ll it, pour water or clean it.
❐
Do not over
fi
ll the kettle. Do not exceed the
MAX
marking. If the kettle is over
fi
lled, the
hot water will slosh out of the device when it boils.
❐
Do not operate the device without water in it or with less water than is required to reach
the
MIN
marking. If this does happen, the device switches off automatically. In this case,
allow the kettle to cool down before you pour in cold water and boil it again.
