Continue to mount IC1 with D5 attached. After placement, IC1 can
be placed and bent over to reduce the height of the assembled
PCB. The fuse and J1 may now be placed in position.

The PCB should now look like the picture below, but with the
addition of the diode D5 to the middle lead of IC1:
