5. Initial Assembly
The tricycle normally comes fully assembled
and tested by your specialist dealer. Should
you wish to assemble the tricycle yourself,
please carefully read through the following
sections first.
Risk of injury!
Small parts that are required to assemble the
tricycle (e.g. screws and washers) must be
kept out of the reach of small children. They
pose the danger of suffocation if swallowed.
Keep all packaging material away from
children.
General Assembly Requirements
The tricycle must be assembled with the ut-
most care so as to avoid accidents or injuries.
Take your time.
Certain assembly procedures require an ele-
ment of skill and experience in using hand
tools (e.g. spanner). If in doubt, please consult
your specialist dealer or a workshop.
Some procedures require screws to be tight-
ened with a certain force. This force is speci-
fied in newton metres (e.g. 8 Nm). If a screw is
tightened with insufficient force, the connection
may be loose and not safe. If the force is too
great screws and other parts may be damaged
or broken.
Only by using a torque wrench can you be
sure of precisely applying the required force.
The following information may be helpful: a
force of 8 Nm corresponds to a weight of 8 kg
at the end of a 10 cm long tool. If in doubt,
please consult your specialist dealer or a work-
shop.
The following assembly tools are supplied with
the tricycle:
1 10 mm open-ended spanner
1 5 mm Allan key
You will additionally require another 10 mm
open-ended spanner to lock the seat nut.
