ROTALIGN 01.2000
A thermometer measures the current temperature in the receiver.
This value is displayed on the right side of the XY VIEW screen. A
warning appears should the ambient temperature fall below or rise
above the specified operating temperatures: 0 °C - 60 °C (32 °F - 140
°F). The value is displayed in both °C and °F. Although a warning
appears, measurements can still be taken. It is, however, the
responsibility of the operator to determine whether or not accurate
measurements can be made under the conditions.
AVERAGE
To deliver increased accuracy in situations where accurate alignment
measurements may be difficult to make, e.g machines with long
shafts, ROTALIGN is equipped with a variable average function.
With this option, up to 2048 samples can be made at each measure-
ment point. AVERAGE is available in the "Measure at ..." and
"Multipoint" measurement modes (both horizontal and vertical ma-
chines), with a default value of 32 samples. For the "Continuous
Sweep" and "Pass" measurement modes, the average value is fixed at
8 samples. Furthermore, the average value set in this option is also
used in Soft Foot and Move modes. Note: the AVERAGE function is
not operative in the normal XY view in the Measurement screen.
Press the AVERAGE softkey to set the number of points to be
averaged. This value can be set from a minimum of 8 to a maximum
of 2048 in increments of factors of 2. The available averaging values
are, therefore: 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 and 2048. The "
–
"
key reduces the averaging value by one increment; the CLR key resets
the value to 8.
A window containing a sliding bar appears on the left side of the
Measurement screen displaying the current percent of measurements
which have been taken. This window also appears in the Soft Foot
and Move modes.
Sliding bar showing percent-
age of measurements which
have been taken.
n: number of measure-
ments to be averaged
tn: time required to
make measurements
