3.1.7  Settings 

Device Assignment 

PROLINX SyCon is able to configure different devices in a PROFIBUS network. 
To run the online functions of such a device, it must be defined how PROLINX 
SyCon can communicate with it. This is done in the menu item 

Device 

Assignment

The external connection can be checked with the buttons 

Connect COM 1 

to 

Connect COM 4

. PROLINX SyCon sends a request on that COM port and asks 

for the firmware. If there is a Master device connected, the firmware is displayed 
otherwise there will be a timeout error. 

 

Bus Parameter 

For a PROFIBUS DP system with one master, the only parameter that must be 
selected is the baud rate.
