Managing the PegasusPro
PegasusPro Product Manual
Using FileBoost
FileBoost is a PROMISE proprietary technology that makes possible very rapid data transfers to and
from the DAS Volume and the NAS folder accessible on Member computers. This is a key feature of the
PegasusPro system and is especially useful when large amounts of data need to be moved between folders
mounted on Member computers.
It is possible to perform the same operation using only Finder in Mac, but FileBoost greatly increases
data transfer performance to reduce time needed for completion. Again, the time savings is significant when
large quantities of data are routinely being moved from one Member folder to another.
For the administrator, or any user connected to PegasusPro via Thunderbolt™ 3 DAS, it is necessary
to eject the DAS Volumes first before launching FileBoost. You can use the Eject function in Finder to eject
the DAS Volumes, then begin using FileBoost.
If you try to start FileBoost before ejecting the DAS Volumes, a warning appears instructing the
administrator or DAS user to first eject the volumes. Members connected only via 10G network do not need
to do this since they are not connected to the DAS Volumes.
