Skin and nail care is not merely a matter that is indicated when
suffering correspondingly, it is also a cosmetic matter.
Start with cutting and forming toenails. They absolutely must be
filed straight in order to hinder nails growing into the skin. Micro-
fine filing using the sapphire disc protects against ingrown nails.
Troublesome calluses always develop in the areas where the foot
is over-stressed, mostly the heel, the front balls and the side of the
big toe. Treat the callus using the sapphire cone or even better with
the drainage grinder. Repeat this procedure regularly. Under no
circumstances should you take radical measures when removing
the callus.
Ingrown toenails can – as needed – be loosened gently using the
small cutter. Thick lignified nails can be ground off slowly from the
top and filed thinner from the sides.
Crumbly nail areas can also be cleaned using the fine sapphire
cutter.
Corns are the painful result of a slow callus process. They are
calluses with an externally hardened part which is soft inside.
Remove the upper callus with the sapphire cone and then work
further using the small sapphire cutter. This already removes
the pressure. Deeply sunken corns should not be removed by
oneself; they should be removed by a doctor.
If skin and nail care are carried out systematically using the
Promed
devices and accessories, regular care becomes a
positive experience.
The special abrasive wheels are described more closely on the
following pages.
The abrasive wheels are available in various forms and
degrees of hardness and can be reordered at any time. Ask
your specialist dealer.
