Table 7 Troubleshooting Tips

Condition

Possible Cause

LCD display is blank

If using a Proliphix EPA to power your thermostat:

„

Check power to the EPA.

„

Check the wiring on the EPA punchdown terminal (use the T568A wiring scheme).

„

Use a 110 block punchdown tool to ensure proper connection.

„

Check the blue and brown pairs on the Ethernet cable connected on screw terminals 1 and
2.

„

Verify that jumper J3 is on both pins (In position)

If using PoE to power your thermostat:

„

Verify that jumper J3 is not connected to both pins (Out position).

„

Verify the PoE equipment is sending power to the thermostat. See your PoE equipment
documentation.

„

Verify that Ethernet wiring is securely attached to terminal screws.

If using an “h” model thermostat:

„

Verify that the Common from the primary transformer source (either RH or RC) is
connected to the C terminal.

„

Either RH or RC (24v source) must be connected.

„

Verify the HVAC system is powered on.

LCD display is active but no
network link indication exists

If using a Proliphix EPA to power your thermostat:

„

Check the wiring on the EPA punchdown terminal (use the T568A wiring scheme).

„

Use a 110 block punchdown tool to ensure proper connection.

„

Verify that the Ethernet patch cable is in the correct RJ45 port of the EPA (port 1 connects
to punchdown 1, etc.)

„

Verify that the Ethernet patch cable is connected to a working hub, switch, or router.

HVAC heat does not activate
when tested

„

Verify you increased the heat set point higher than the temperature reading and the
thermostat is in heat mode (see

page 11

).

„

Verify the HVAC system is powered on (

page 11

).

HVAC cool does not activate
when tested

„

Verify you decreased the cool set point lower than the temperature reading and the
thermostat is in cool mode (see

page 12

).

„

Verify the HVAC system is powered on (

page 11

).

HVAC fan does not activate
when tested

„

Check the base plate wiring (see

page 4

 or

page 6

).

„

Verify the HVAC system is powered on (
