Tips for using a decoder
• When you have connected your television and video recorder by scart, and set the second scart
socket for a decoder, you can select the source you want to decode.
1 If you press the TV/VCR button. ‘ VCR’ will appear in the video recorder display, and the
video recorder tuner signal will be decoded. You can record the decoded video recorder signal.
2 If you press the TV/VCR button. ‘ VCR’ will disappear from the video recorder display, and the
signal input to the EURO AV1 scart socket will be decoded. Normally this will be the signal from
the tuner in the television. You can record the decoded television signal.
• Normally the decoded programme will appear on the television as soon as the decoder is
switched on, as long as you have connected the television through the EURO AV1 scart socket.
• When you connect the decoder by scart and the television by its aerial socket, you have to press
the TV/VCR button to make ‘VCR’ appear in the video recorder display, otherwise you cannot see
the decoded signal.
