JOKER EVOLUTION 35
If the position of the rear wheel is changed the brakes
need to be adjusted.
The correct functioning of the brake also depends on
the correct rear tyre pressure being maintained.
(see chapter 2.6
“Tyre pressure”).
The parking brakes are designed to keep the
wheelchair in position when stationary. For safety
reasons we do not recommend using the parking
brakes for braking while the wheelchair is in
motion.
To ad just the brake proceed as follows (figure 53):
Remove the bolt “A” and its corresponding nut that is located
on the inner side of the brake support “S” (4mm Allen key and
10mm spanner.
Rotate the mudguard as much as to make the bolt “B”
accessible – this bolt fixes the brake adjustment plate “R”.
Loosen the bolt “B” (4mm Allen key).
Slide the plate “R” until the knurled brake rod “P” is at a
distance “D” of 0.5 cm (0.6 cm with anti-puncture tyre) .
If the slot is not long enough to allow a proper adjustment,
remove the bolt “B” and use another slot.
Once reached the correct adjustment, tighten the bolt “B”
hard.
Re-assemble the mudguard and fix it with the bolt “A” and its
corresponding nut.
Proceed in the same manner for both sides of the wheelchair.
6.9
Backrest upholstery adjustment
The backrest can be adjusted to the user requirements by
tensioning or slackening the special velcro straps hidden within the
backrest itself .
To carry out the adjustment, lift or remove the padding, tighten or
slacken the velcro straps as required and put the padding back in
place (figures 54, 55).
