When You Should Not Use the Appliance
Do not use the appliance if any of the following statements
applies to you:
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you have been exposed to intensive solar radiation for
the last 4 weeks or if you have been to a solarium.
• In areas with tattoos, permanent make-up or over pierc-
ings and other metallic items.
• In areas with large freckles, birthmarks, moles or warts.
• If you are suffering or have suffered from keloid scars.
• If you are sensitive to light or on medication that makes
the skin more sensitive to light.
• If you are suffering from abnormal skin conditions
because of diabetes, for instance, or if you are suffering
from another metabolic disorder.
• If you recently had a treatment with, for example, alpha
hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), Re-
tin-A®, Accutane®, topical retinoids and / or azelaic acid.
• If you have received a steroid treatment in the last 3
months.
• If you have a history of herpes in the treatment area.
• If you suffer from epilepsy.
• If you have or have been fallen ill with skin cancer.
• If you have an active implant such as a pacemaker, an
appliance for incontinence, an insulin pump, etc.
• If you have undergone a radiation therapy or chemother-
apy in the last 3 months.
• If you are suffering from a disorder of the blood coagu-
lation.
• If you have other diseases that, according to your doctor,
would make the treatment unsafe for you.
If you are still uncertain whether the use of the appliance is
safe, consult a doctor or dermatologist.
Unpacking the Appliance
1. Take the appliance out of its packaging.
2.
Remove all packaging materials, such as foils, filler
material, cable brackets and cardboard packaging.
3. Check the contents for completeness.
4. In case of incomplete delivery or damage, do not oper-
ate the appliance. Return it to your dealer immediately.

Application Instructions for Safe Use
• Carefully Select the Intensity Level of the Light
Flashes
The intensity level refers to the intensity of the emitted
light flashes during use, from the lowest to the highest
level. The indicator lamps next to the level display (5)
show the intensity level that has been set. Higher inten-
sity levels improve the results, but also the resulting risks
and side effects. (See page 82 “Possible Side Effects”)
