FILLING THE FILTER
Before filling the filter with sand, make sure that it is correctly settled on its base
and in its final position. Check that the drain plug is in. (Refer to the Filter installation
instructions for details regarding assembly).
Screw the laterals , R, onto the collector tube, Q, inside the filter tank. Take care
not to force or overtighten.
Cover the top opening of the collector tube with adhesive tape to protect it.
Centre the collector using a little sand.
Check that the collector tube is centred and the laterals are lying against the
floor of the filter tank, then pour the sand in carefully, taking care not to damage
the laterals. Caution! The collector tube must be in contact with the floor of the
filter tank, otherwise it will not be possible to mount the 6-way valve.
The sand should not reach higher than 2/3 of the way up the filter tank.
Clear any sand off the top of the filter and the tube, then remove the tape. Make
sure that the o-ring is present in its seating inside the valve.
Put the valve in place, do not forget the o-ring (X). Finish off the assembly
with the collar clamp (H). Tighten such that a regular interval (15 to 20 mm) is left
between the two half clamps. Tighten alternately taking care not to overtighten.
Refer to the filter installation instructions for more detailed information.
Screw the isolating module (K), the 2 barbed unions (S) and the
pressure gauge (L) onto the 6-way valve. Do not forget to use Teflon
on the threading.
