5.4.2 Machine side
Adjust the gripping depth (machine side) so, that the steel-
lamellas are gripping in the ½ of the stone layer (see Fig. 20).
Example: with stone layer breadth of 800 mm
→
170 mm
With extremely large stone layers it recommends to adjust the
gripping depth a little lower, so that the steel-lamellas grip in
the lowest range of the stone layer. Otherwise it exist the
danger that the stone layer breaks out.

The device (HVZ-LIGHT) is adjusted optimally, when while gripping process and while main clamping is open, the steel-
lamellas (machine side) contact the stone layer and the steel-lamellas (laying side) have a distance to the stone layer of
about 100 - 150 mm (Fig. 21
).
