IMPORTANT! Vibration may cause failure if a quick coupler is
connected directly to the air tool. To overcome this, connect a
leader hose to the tool. A quick coupler may then be used to
connect the leader hose to the air line hose.
INSTALL THE GRINDING DIE
Position the grinder with the collet nut (E) to your left and the air inlet
(D) to your right.
1. Swing the wrench clamp (B) to the side and remove the wrench (C)
from the tool’s back.
2. Insert the wrench over the collet nut’s (E)
flats.
3. Press the collet nut (E) into the grinder
body, and rotate the wrench upward to
unlock the grinder collet.
3.1 The die grinder’s underside has arrows
engraved to indicate the direction to
lock the collet (see Fig. 2).
4. Release the collet nut and confirm it is
retracted (Fig. 3-1).
5. Insert the grinder die shaft into the collet.
Make sure it is fully seated.
6. Rotate the collet nut downward to lock
the die in the collet. The collet unit is
extended when locked (Fig. 3.1).
OPERATION
1. Clean the die grinder of packing grease before first use. Also grease
the spindle gears. See the Air Tool Lubrication section for instructions.
2. Install the grinding die (See Assembly & Installation). The type of
grinding die installed will depend on the material and task.
3. Connect the tool to the air source.
4. Set the compressor to the correct air pressure and flow (see
Specifications). Start the compressor.
5. Push the trigger lever safety (F) forward to free the trigger lever (G).
