Temporarily Limiting Vocabulary using Vocabulary Builder
There are times when the amount of vocabulary available needs to be reduced. To temporarily limit
vocabulary without changing the motor plan for a word, use Vocabulary Builder. Vocabulary Builder can
only be used on a copy of a vocabulary file.
Creating a List of Words to Teach
1.
Select
Menu
.
2.
Select
Vocab Builder
. The Vocab Builder window opens.
3.
Slide the On/Off button at the bottom of the window to
On
.
4.
Select
Disable All
in the bottom right corner.
5.
Either (a) type a word you want to teach in the search window and then check the box next to that
word on the list OR (b) select the
Quick Edit
button at the bottom left of the window and type each
word, selecting
Add Word
after each entry. Select
Save
.
6.
Select
Done
. A message will notify you that WFL is “Updating Buttons.” When the message
disappears, only the selected words will appear.
Note:
When you turn Vocabulary Builder off, all the hidden words can be seen again.
Saving a List
At any time, active words in Vocabulary Builder can saved as a list.
1.
Select
Menu
and then select
Vocab Builder
. The Vocab Builder window opens.

Select
Save List
.
3.
Give the list a name in the
Word List File Name
field.
4.
Select
Save
.
5.
When the list has been saved, you will be notified that the “File Saved Successfully”. Select
Okay
.
6.
Select
Done
to exit the Vocabulary Builder menu.
