AUS Jazzy 1103 Rev E/Sep02

V .   O P E R A T I O N

NOTE: When the batteries begin to approach a discharged state, the first red bar will begin to slowly flash,
reminding you that the batteries need to be charged immediately!

Thermal Rollback

The Dynamic DL controller is equipped with a thermal rollback circuit. This circuit monitors the temperature of the
motors and the controller. In the event that the motors or the controller become excessively hot (above 50°C/122°
F), the controller reduces the motor voltage. For every degree above 50°C/122° F, the controller reduces the
voltage by five volts. This reduces your Jazzy’s speed and allows the electrical components to cool down. When
the temperature returns to a safe level, your Jazzy resumes its normal speed.

Trouble Codes

In addition to indicating the current state of battery charge, the battery condition meter can also indicate possible
problems with your Jazzy. If the battery condition meter is flashing rapidly, the controller may be indicating a fault.

The meter has six individual circles. These circles are meant to provide information by the number of circles that are
flashing. For instance, trouble is encoded as one (for a low battery voltage) to six (for a motor stalled or joystick
out of neutral time out) and displayed by flashing all LEDs the number of times given by the trouble code. The
following is a list of the possible errors signified by the rapidly flashing meter.

“•” means all 6 LED’s flash on for a period of 0,2 seconds and off for 0,8 seconds.
“—” means all 6 LED’s are off for a period of two seconds before flashing sequence repeats.

If you cannot resolve your problem, see an authorised Pride provider.

Charger Inhibit Plug Connection

The charger inhibit connector on the utility tray is coded with colored
dots. See figure 5. The dots are positioned so that you align the flat side
of the male connector with the flat side of the female connector before
making the connection.

CAUTION!  Failure to properly align the connectors can

result in damage to the controller, the charger harness,

and the connectors.
