Procedure 7.19 - Replacing a Handlebar
1.
Set the on/off switch in the “off” position, then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove the four screws that fasten the display front panel to the display housing. Lift the
display front panel off of the display housing and disconnect the interconnect cable from the
upper PCA. Remove the display front panel and set it aside
3.
Remove the four screws that fasten the display backplate to the frame. Remove the display
backplate and set it aside.
4.
Remove the two upper display mounting bolts. See Diagram 7.5. Remove the display
mounting clamp from the upper portion of the handlebars.
5.
Remove both screws from the lower end of the handlebar being replaced. Slide the
handlebar out of it’s lower mounting in the frame tube.
6.
Slide the replacement handlebar into its lower mounting in the frame tube.
7.
Replace the display mounting clamp at the top end of the handlebars and hand start both
mounting bolts removed in step 4. Torque both bolts to 300 inch-pounds (25 foot-pounds).
8.
Replace and tighten both screws at the lower end of the handlebars remove in step 5.
9.
Feed the interconnect cable through the display backplate and fasten the display backplate
with the four screws removed in step 3.
10. Connect the interconnect cable to the upper PCA and set the display front panel in its
mounting position. Fasten the display front panel with the four screws removed in step 2.
