3. Align the support (#38) bolt hole with the outer bolt hole on the base
section. Secure with a washer (#9), lock washer (#36) and nut (#10).
Secure the other end of the support to the left post with a washer (#9),
lock washer (#36) and nut (#10). Secure a second support to the left post
in the same manner.
4. Follow Steps 1 to 3 to attach the base section and supports to the
right post.
5. Place the upper crossbeam (#25) to align the bolt holes with the bolt holes
at the top of the left and right posts. Insert a bolt (#12) in each bolt hole so
they protrude inside the post. Secure all eight bolts with a washer (#15), a
lock washer (#14) and nut (#13).
6. Raise the shop press frame upright.
7. Thread the pressure gauge (#1) into the pressure gauge connection nut at
the top of the ram (#3). Place aside.
8. Place the upper plate (#6) on top of the upper crossbeam. Drop a bolt (#5)
through each bolt hole.
9. Position the under plate (#8) beneath the upper plate and guide the two
bolts through the bolt holes in the under plate.
10. Secure each bolt with a washer (#9) and nut (#10). Hand-tighten to allow
repositioning of the ram plates later in the assembly process.
11. Thread the upper round nut (#7) onto the ram (#3) until it reaches the
top threads.
12. Slide the ram through the upper plate until the upper round nut is sitting
on the under plate. Position so the pressure gauge is facing the front.
13. Thread the under round nut (#11) onto the ram and tighten to secure the
ram to the bottom plate.
14. Center the ram assembly in relation to the frame. Tighten the nuts (#10) on
the ram assembly with a wrench to hold the ram in place during operation.
15. Push each bed frame pin (#18) through the matching set of holes on the
left and right side of the frame. The bed frame (#17) will rest on these, so
ensure they are level with each other. Secure the pins with the included
spring clips (#26).
