MOUNT THE BIKE RACK
IMPORTANT!
Clean the vehicle surface where the carrier, straps or pads will
make contact when installed each time. This will prevent grit from marring
the vehicle surface.
The bike carrier will require a different configuration depending on the vehicle
trunk design. Refer to Fig. 5 to determine your setup configuration. The frame
will require final adjustments based on your vehicle before it is ready for use.
1. Pop the trunk or hatch so there is a slight gap between the door and car frame.
2. Place the bike rack onto the vehicle trunk or the hatchback.
3. Loosen the adjustment knobs and rotate each support arm upwards until
they are 20° above horizontal.
4. Adjust the frame pad arm to sit against the trunk or hatchback window.
Tighten the knobs to lock the arms in place.
5. Loosen the two long straps (B) and remove any twists. Clip the hooks into
the upper trunk or hatchback door (Fig. 6.). Do not attach the hooks to glass
or plastic. Tighten enough to hold it in place.
6. Each outer straps on the lower carrier frame are positioned differently
depending on your vehicle. Tighten the straps enough to hold the position.
a. Sedan: The outer strap hooks clip under the trunk’s lower lip.
