2. Check that the power at the outlet conforms to the rating for the reel and is
a three-pronged grounded outlet.
3. Locate a wall or ceiling beam. Drywall alone will not hold the weight of the
reel. Using the mounting bracket as a template, mark the holes so they are
centered on the beam.
4. Attach the U-shaped bracket (A) to the beam with the screws provided.
5. Place the hanger bracket (2, B) inside the U-
shaped bracket, lining up small holes in the two
brackets (Fig. 1).
6. Insert the locking pin (C) through aligned holes.
7. Hang the reel on the hook using the flying ring.
8. Use a pair of pliers to close the hook so the reel
is secure and won’t slide off.
9. Adjust the cord stop so the work light hangs at
desired length when cord is fully retracted.
10. Plug the lead-in cord into the outlet.
OPERATION
BEFORE EACH USE
1. Ensure that the cord reel is properly and permanently mounted.
2. Check for damaged reel parts and for frayed, worn, or a lacerated power
cord. Never operate the reel with a damaged part.
CORD REEL OPERATION
1. Check the reel for correct operation by slowly pulling out the cord. A
‘clicking’ noise will be heard every quarter revolution of the drum.
2. To latch the reel, pull out the cord and allow it to retract after hearing the
first few ‘clicks’.
3. To unlatch, slowly pull out the cord until the ‘clicking’ noise stops then,
holding on to the cord, let it retract in a controlled way until the cord
stopper rests against the cord guide.
4. To avoid possible injury and damage to the reel, always hold on to the cord
while it is rewinding.
