OPERATION

WARNING! Do not force the tool. The weight of the tool will apply adequate pressure. Force and

excessive pressure could cause wheel breakage and serious personal injury.

1.  Disconnect the plug from the power source.

2.  Fit the appropriate disc onto the grinder.

3.  Plug the tool into a power source.

4.  Allow the grinder to run idle for one minute before use.

5.  Do not cover the tool’s exhaust vents when in use. This may damage the motor.

6.  For best results, hold the grinder at a 10-15° angle to the workpiece.

7.  Use the Side Handle to help steady the tool and glide back and forth in a steady motion.

8.  Do not tilt the tool when cutting or grinding.

9.  Use a diamond cutting wheel when cutting hard stone.

10.  Do not use a cutting wheel for rough grinding.

11.  Do not put the tool down until it has completely stopped moving. The disc will continue to

spin for a short amount of time after the tool is switched off.

12.  Immediately shut off the tool and have it examined by a qualified technician if any of the

following occurs.

a.  The tool’s moving parts get stuck or their speed drops abnormally low.

b.  The tool shakes abnormally, followed by unusual noise.

c.  The motor housing gets hot and/or an odour is present.

d.  Heavy sparks occur around the motor area.

13.  Always replace the wheel if the tool is dropped during operation.

14.  Do not bang or hit a grinding disc against the workpiece.

15.  Do not bounce or snag the wheel, especially when working corners, sharp edges, etc. This can

cause loss of control and kickback.

SHAFT LOCK

CAUTION! Do not use the shaft lock while the spindle is moving. This may damage the tool. Use the

shaft lock only when installing or removing accessories to prevent spindle movement.

To use the shaft lock, hold down the self-lock button (#21) and turn the spindle by hand until the

assembly clicks and locks into place.

GRINDING AND SANDING OPERATION

1.  Always hold the tool firmly with one hand on the housing and one hand on the Side Handle.

2.  Turn the tool on and apply the wheel or disc to the workpiece.

WARNING! Do not start the tool when the wheel or disc is touching the workpiece.

3.  In general, keep the wheel or disc at an angle of about 15° to the surface of the workpiece.

4.  Do not run the tool in reverse during the break-in period of a new wheel. The wheel may be

worked in forward and reverse once the edge of the wheel has been rounded off by use.

5.  Do not use cut-off wheels for side grinding.

6.  Do not change the angle of the wheel during cutting operations. This will cause the wheel to

crack and break, causing serious personal injury.
