PERSONAL SAFETY

1.  Dress properly, wear protective equipment. Use foot, hand and head protection. Always wear

ANSI approved impact safety goggles, which must provide both frontal and side protection.

Protect your hands with suitable gloves. Protect your head from falling objects by wearing

a hard hat. Protective, electrically non-conductive clothes and non-skid footwear are

recommended when working. Wear steel-toed boots to prevent injury from falling objects.

2.  Do not over reach; keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance

enables better control of the tool in unexpected situations.

3.  Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use your common sense. Do not operate any machine

or tool when you are tired, under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications.

SPECIFIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING! Turn the vehicle OFF, set the parking brake and chock the wheels before installing the

Cargo Carrier.

1.  Only use the cargo carrier with a properly installed 2 in. hitch receiver capable of supporting the

cargo carrier and its load. If the cargo carrier is installed on a class II receiver, the total weight,

including the carrier, is limited to 350 lbs.

2.  Install the carrier sufficiently far away from hot exhaust to prevent heat damage to the carrier

or cargo. Check to make sure that the exhaust pipe is not pointing in the direction of the cargo.

Flammable cargo can ignite from exposure to heat. Other cargo can be damaged from the heat.

Always be aware of this potential danger.

3.  Follow Transport Canada or local ministry of transportation guidelines for installation and use.

4.  Do not exceed the carrier’s maximum capacity. Be aware of dynamic loading. Sudden load

movement may briefly exceed the load capacity causing product failure.

5.  Always distribute objects in the cargo carrier evenly. Uneven weight distribution could cause

tipping. Do not lean on or climb on the side panels.

6.  Secure the carrier as close to your vehicle as possible, minimizing the distance between the

carrier’s load and your vehicle.

7.  Secure loads with straps or other practical methods of securing before transporting.

8.  Inspect before each use, including all bolts and nuts on the carrier. Do not use if damaged.

9.  Keep the carrier clean and dry.

10.  This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children.

TOOL USE AND CARE

1.  Use the right tool for the job. The tool will perform better and more safely at the task for which

it was intended.  Do not modify this tool or use for a purpose for which it was not designed.

2.  Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean, and in good condition for a better and

safer performance.

3.  When not in use for an extended period, apply a thin coat of lubricant to the steel parts

to avoid rust.

4.  Maintain the label and nameplate on the tool. These carry important information. If unreadable

or missing, contact Princess Auto for a replacement.
