Checking the valve seat wear limit
1. The valve seats in the 4-valve cylinder
heads can be remachined. At the same
time, the wear limit dimension must not
be exceeded as this would mean that the
hydraulic valve tappets may no longer
function correctly.
Wear dimension Intake valve Exhaust valve
As from Model 87 44.4 mm 43.4 mm
2. This is measured with the valve to be
installed, from the end of the valve shaft to
the contact area af the valve spring
support
in the cylinder head.

3. The valve must be held firmly on the valve
seat for measurement.
