INFORMATION FOR USERS
Pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU,
regarding electric and electronic appliances,
this appliance must not be disposed of with
domestic waste, but must be sent to an official
collection facility. This appliance complies with
EU Directive 2011/65/EU.
The crossed-out bin symbol on the
appliance indicates that, at the end
of its useful lifespan, the product
must be disposed of separately from
other waste. Therefore, at the end of its life,
the user must hand over the appliance to an
appropriate collection centre for electric
and electronic waste or, according to the
legislation in force in the country, leave the
used appliance with the distributor when
buying a new product to replace it. Proper
separate waste collection to facilitate the
subsequent
recycling,
treatment
and
environmentally compatible disposal of the
appliance helps to prevent negative effects
on the environment and human health, and
promotes recycling of the materials the
product is made of. Unlawful disposal by
the owner may result in the application of
the administrative sanctions envisaged by
current legislation.
WHICH WATER TO USE IN THE
BOILER
Polti La Vaporella has been designed to func-
tion with medium-hardness tap water be-
tween 8°f and 20°f. If the tap water is very
hard, do not just use demineralised water but
a mix composed of 50% tap water and 50%
demineralised water which is widely available
to purchase.
Warning: check the hardness of the water at
the technical office at your local council or the
local water supplier.
If you only use tap water, you can reduce the
formation of limescale by using the special
Polti Kalstop (PAEU0094)
anti-limescale
product, distributed by Polti, and available for
sale at all major domestic-appliance stores or
online at www.polti.co.uk.
Do not use distilled water, undiluted deminera-
lised water, rain water or water containing ad-
ditives (e.g. starch, perfumes), scented water
or water produced by other domestic applian-
ces, by water softeners and filter jugs.
Do not add chemical, natural, detergent, or
limescale removing substances, etc.
1. PREPARATION FOR USE
1.1 Position Polti La Vaporella on a stable, flat,
heat-resistant surface.
1.2. Open the flap for filling the tank. Fill the
tank with water up to the MAX line located on
the tank itself (1), but no further.
These operations must always be carried out
with the power cable disconnected from the
mains.
You may fill up the tank when necessary, you
need not wait for the appliance to cool.
1.3 Close the flap and/or reinsert the water
tank.
1.4 Gently pull the power cable out and
connect it to an appropriate mains socket (3)
that is earthed. Always use the product with
the cable completely unwound. Take out the
steam hose.
1.5 Turn the dial on the appliance in a clockwise
direction starting from
to the desired
function (5-6). The indicator light on the iron
(7) will light up yellow, to show that the
appliance
is
heating
up
to
reach
the
temperature for the desired function.
The water tank can be removed by pulling it
from the lower handle (2).
The sound emitted on switching on your ap-
pliance and periodically during use, is due to
the water refilling system and is quite normal.
