16. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
CAUSE
SOLUTION
If water comes out
from the Iron sole-
plate instead of
steam
The correct temperature was
not reached.
Check that the indicator light is constant
blue, indicating that Polti La Vaporella
has reached the correct temperature.
First steam release.
Release onto a cloth until steam comes
out from the holes on the solepate.
The temperature knob on the
iron is set at the minimum va-
lue.
Adjust the temperature knob on the
iron to the medium/maximum value.
Steam does not
come out from the
Iron soleplate
No power/ dial set on
or on
the SILK program.
Ensure that the appliance is connected
to the power supply and that the dial is
set on another program other than
SILK.
Water tank is empty.
Fill the tank as described in section 11.
Little steam comes
from the Iron sole-
plate.
The steam is dry, so is barely
visible, but is present and effec-
tive
This is normal especially in particular
environmental conditions.
The appliance does
not turn on.
Dial set on
.
Turn the dial to the desired program.
No power.
Check that the appliance has been con-
nected to the the mains, as indicated in
section 1.
The water tank is
full, but steam
doesn't come out.
The iron has not reset the water
level.
Keep the steam button pressed down
for at least one second, as described in
section 11.
Water tank is not inserted cor-
rectly.
Correctly insert the water tank.
Some water drops
are present on the
fabric.
The ironing board cover is satu-
rated with water as it is not sui-
ted to the power of an iron with
a high-pressure boiler.
Check that the board is suitable (board
with grille that prevents condensation).
The
automatic
shut-down
does
not work after 10
minutes
of
non-
use.
The STEAM PULSE function or
TURBO function is operational.
Deactivate
the
STEAM PULSE
and
TURBO function.
