5. Route Options
Route Options provides you with a list of factors that
are taken into consideration by your RoadMentor
when planning a route to your destination. This is
accessed from the Main Menu. The current settings
are highlighted in yellow. Select the option you want
by pressing the respective buttons.
Note
: Changes take immediate effect.
Method
z
Quickest-Selects the quickest route that is available (not necessarily the
shortest route).
z
Shortest-Selects the shortest route that is available (not necessarily the
quickest route).
z
Major-Your route will rely on the main roads/freeways/motorways in the vicinity.
z
Local-Your route will rely on the minor roads in the vicinity.
Turns
z
Less - When enabled, your RoadMentor will minimize the number of turns
required when planning your route.
z
More - When enabled, your RoadMentor will get a route with more turns to meet
shortest or quickest criteria.
Toll Roads
z
Include-The route will pass through any toll roads.
z
Exclude-The route will not pass through any toll road.
Note
: Avoiding toll roads may increase the time and distance required to reach your
destination. Polstar cannot guarantee the status of toll roads; therefore you should
check with the local governing body regarding the status of toll roads you may use.
Ferries

Note
: Ferry usage may involve a fee, like toll roads, therefore you should check with
the local transportation authority for information regarding ferry usage. In some
cases ferries may be the only option to your destination.
Press OK at the bottom of the screen to save your route selection factors and you
will be returned to the Map Screen. Press cancel to cancel any changes you have
just made without saving and to return to the Map Screen.
