AUTO TACH LEARNING
The
PS-5565TW
system is equipped with an auto-learn procedure that will tell you if you have the correct
TACH wire.
§
TACH adjustment procedures should be done every time a new unit is installed.
This is because
the TACH signal from some IGNITION systems can sometimes be too high or too low, thus causing
failed starts under different temperatures.
The procedures for TACH learning is as follows:
•
Ensure that the IGNITION and the VALET switch are turned “OFF”
1. Hold HOOD switch down for 4 seconds.
2. Release HOOD switch (PARKING LIGHTS should come “ON”).
3. With PARKING LIGHTS ON, immediately push and release HOOD switch again.
PARKING LIGHTS will stay ON for up to 20 seconds.
4. Press TRUNK button; PARKING LIGHTS should flash 4 times quickly, then go out.
5. Turn the IGNITION “ON” (PARKING LIGHTS should go ON STEADY).
6. Start the vehicle using the key. (Lights go out if TACH is detected)
7. Allow it to reach regular engine idle speed. Press and release brakes. (PARKING LIGHTS
will flash from 1 to 7 times).
8. Press channel 3 (TRUNK) to save the setting. (PARKING LIGHTS will give one long flash
to confirm the learn.)
NOTE: To end TACH learning at any time, turn IGNITION OFF, or close HOOD.
MANUAL TACH SETTING
1. Hold HOOD switch down for 4 seconds.
2. Release HOOD switch. (PARKING LIGHTS should come “ON”)
3. With PARKING LIGHTS ON, immediately push and release HOOD switch again.
PARKING LIGHTS will stay ON for up to 20 seconds.
4. Press button 3 (TRUNK); PARKING LIGHTS should flash 4 times quickly, then go out.
5. Press LOCK to decrease and START to increase TACH adjustment.
6. Press channel 3 (TRUNK) to save the setting. (PARKING LIGHTS will give one long flash
to confirm the learn.)
