• Using the Flash
Use the Flash when you take pictures at night, indoors, or outdoors in
heavy shadows.
Flash Range: 3 feet ~ 4.9 feet (0.9 meters ~ 1.5 meters)
Press the button repeatedly to scroll through the flash options. The flash
icon that is displayed on the Status LCD screen is the active option. The
default setting is Flash off.

Flash Off. The flash does not fire. Use this setting for outdoor
pictures, or where flash is prohibited or may be distracting, or
when shooting toward a reflective surface, such as a window or
mirror. If there is not enough light when using this setting, your
pictures will be too dark.
A
Auto Flash. The flash fires automatically as needed. Use this
setting to take most pictures.
Flash On. The flash fires for every picture. Use it indoors in low
light.
NOTE:
• When the camera is set to Flash on and Auto Flash, the icons on the Status
LCD will blink, which indicates the flash is charging, and they will stop blinking
when the flash has charged.
• When the battery power level is low and unable to charge the flash, there will
be a low beep tone when you press the flash button.
• When the flash is charging, you are not able to take pictures. There will be two
short beeps if you press the shutter button.
