Stores the most recently used file number regardless of
deleted files or a change of memory card. This is useful
for avoiding the file name duplication when images are
downloaded to a computer.

Resets file numbering each time the memory card is
changed.

You can use the Format Memory Card menu to delete all of the content
that is currently on your camera’s memory card or internal memory.
Keep in mind that formatting the memory card or internal memory
will permanently delete all of the content on your camera’s
memory card or internal memory.
This option will delete all of the
content at one time. If you would like to delete individual images, use
the delete menu in the camera’s Playback mode.
