Removing/changing the battery

Ensure that no liquids get into the interior of the product when changing the battery.

Replace the battery when you notice a significant drop in the battery life, or when the light only

turns on for a short period despite sufficient sunlight during daylight hours.

•  Place the lamp upside down on a soft surface with the battery compartment

(5)

 facing

upwards.

•

Ensure  that  the  on/off  switch

(4)

 is set to the

OFF

 position before opening the battery

compartment.

•  Loosen the screws on the bottom of the battery compartment with a suitable Phillips

screwdriver.

•

Remove the battery compartment cover and seal.

•

Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

•

Replace the used/defective battery with a new battery of the same type and capacity (see

"Technical data"). Ensure that the battery is inserted in the correct polarity (observe plus/+

and minus/- symbols).

•

Reassemble the lamp in the reverse order. Ensure that the seal is attached properly.

Care and cleaning

•  Do not use abrasive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may

damage the casing or stop the product from functioning properly.

•  Never point water jets (e.g. from a high-pressure cleaner) at the product, as this may damage

the seal.

•  Use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean the product. To remove stubborn dirt, moisten the

cloth slightly with lukewarm water.

•  Do not press too hard on the lighting unit

(1)

, as this may damage the product.

•

Remove dust from the lighting unit on a regular basis, otherwise the charging current may

drop.

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste.

Always dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.

Remove the rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately from the product.

b) Rechargeable batteries

You are required by law to return all used batteries. They must not be placed in

household waste.

Rechargeable batteries that contain hazardous substances are labelled with this

symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbreviations

for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated

on the battery, e.g. below the waste icon on the left).

Used rechargeable batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery

retailers.

You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
