CARE AND CLEANING
Always disconnect the kettle from the mains before cleaning or descaling.
1. Before cleaning, be sure the kettle is cold.
2. The outside: wipe with a damp cloth, then dry.
-
Do not use abrasives – they will scratch the glass surfaces, stainless steel and plastic
parts.
-
Do not use scouring powder or any other cleaning products as they may discolor your
kettle.
3. The inside: Wipe with sodium bicarbonate on a damp cloth. Rinse thoroughly. Even though
your kettle comes with a filter, you still need to clean the inside (and the filter) regularly.
4. Do not immerse the kettle or power cord and plug in water or other liquid, and be sure that the
socket is kept dry.
5. Descale your kettle regularly (better once a week) to keep it working efficiently.
6. In hard water areas, it is necessary to remove scale, and water deposit markings in the kettle
as this can cause premature operation of the boil dry switch.
There are various kettle
cleaners/ Kettle descalers which remove scale and markings available from supermarkets,
pharmacies, and other stores.
DESCALING
1. When limescale builds up on the heating element, buy a suitable descaler and descale your
kettle.
2. Limescale makes your kettle take longer to boil and can make the element burn out. After
descaling, boil with fresh water several times and discard. Clean any descaler off the kettle
– it can damage the parts.
3. Some regions of the country have chalky water. This makes boiled water look cloudy and
leaves a deposit on the side of the kettle. This is normal but can be removed with regular
cleaning.
4. The warranty will not cover a kettle that is damaged due to not descaling.
5. Discoloration of the internal part of the kettle due to water conditions in your area will not be
regarded as a malfunction.
6. It is recommended that you clean your kettle regularly.
