Safety instructions
These instructions for use contain warnings and safety
instructions.
• This machine has a type plate with the model number.
Before you start using the kettle, make sure the voltage of
the kettle matches the voltage of the local power supply and
that the same voltage is specified in these instructions for
use.
• The machine is designed solely for the purpose described
in theses instructions for use. Only use the machine if it is in
perfect working order and only for the purpose for which it is
intended.
• Always follow the local and national safety regulations and
standards for electrical devices during installation.
• Installation, maintenance, repair and use are to be carried
out exclusively by authorised personnel. Do not perform
any repair or maintenance work on the machine before the
machine has been secured against unintended operation.
• Make sure the mains cable cannot come into contact with
hot surfaces.
• Do not connect and use the machine if the mains cable is
damaged in any way. Have a service mechanic replace the
mains cable if it is visibly damaged.
• Always check the machine for damage. If you detect
damage, do not use the machine.
• Covers that require the use of tools to remove them may
only be removed by authorised personnel.
•
Removing the covers creates a risk of electric shock or fire.
• Always use the hose that is delivered with the machine; it is
suitable for use with food. Never use an old hose.
• Protect the machine against water and moisture. Never
submerge the machine in water. Do not spray the machine
with water or clean it with a jet of water.
• Use the machine only on a dry, even, horizontal and heat-
resistant surface that can support the weight of the machine.
Make sure the machine is steady, and place it so that it is
sufficiently visible for trained personnel.
• Do not tilt the machine more than 5º.
• The machine may be used by children 8 years and older
and by people with diminished physical, sensory or mental
abilities as well as by people with insufficient knowledge

have been instructed on the safe use of the machine and
understand the possible hazards.
• Do not let children play with the machine. Do not let children
maintain or clean the machine without supervision.
• Do not allow children to climb, stand or hang on the
machine. The machine can tilt or fall over and cause serious

familiar with the tilting and pinching danger of the machine.
• Keep the machine and the cable out of the reach of children.
• Bravilor Bonamat products can dispense liquids at a
temperature above 85 ºC/185 ºF. Temperatures above
52 ºC/125 ºF can cause severe burns and even result in
death. Children, persons with physical disabilities and elderly
people must be accompanied by an adult who is familiar with
the burning hazard presented by Bravilor Bonamat products.
• Never use the machine in a room where the temperature can
drop below 0 ºC/32 ºF.
• The noise produced by this machine is lower than 70 dB.
WARNING
Should the machine freeze, remove the mains cable
from the power outlet and shut off the water supply.
Let the machine defrost and check it for leaks.
THE MACHINE MUST BE EARTHED.

Installation
•
Place the machine on a flat steady surface.
• Before putting the machine into operation, clean the inside with a
non-abrasive cleaning agent.
• Plug the mains cable of the machine into an earthed power outlet
(without switching it on).
•
If a fixed water supply is present, always use the supplied
connection hose.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Thermal protection thermostat
The machine is equipped with two thermal protection thermostats.
When they are activated, the heater switches off and ‘FAIL’ displays
in the display. Switch off the machine and let it cool down for
approx 20 minutes before using it again. If the machine does not start
working after approx 20 minutes, contact your dealer.
WARNING
The outside of the machine gets very hot when in use.
DO NOT TOUCH IT!
Preparing hot water
Switch on the machine by setting the ON/OFF switch at the back of
the machine to the ON position. The display briefly displays ‘8888’
followed by ‘- - - - ‘ and a short acoustic signal. The machine is now
in stand-by mode and can be switched on with the I/O button on the
keyboard at the front of the machine.
This machine can be set for manual or automatic operation. If the
machine is set to Manual mode, water must be added manually,
meaning there is no need for a connection hose. The water intake
must be closed in this case. Use the supplied cap to close the water
intake.
If the machine is set to automatic mode (AUTO), use the supplied
hose to connect the machine to a fixed water supply.
Manual or Automatic mode can be set by holding the ‘100 ºC/212 ºF’
button for 3 seconds. The mode the machine is currently running in
displays in the display. Use the ‘-’ and ‘+’ buttons to switch between
modes (‘MANU’ for manual and ‘AUTO’ for automatic). Confirm the
setting by pressing the ‘100 ºC/212 ºF’ button.
Manual mode
When the water level in the machine is low, ‘FILL’ displays in the
display, the level lamp flashes red and a short acoustic signal is
emitted. The heating element remains off. The machine must be filled
manually.
If there is enough water in the machine, the temperature of the water
displays in the display. Depending on the temperature the machine
is set to and the current water temperature, the heating element will
either switch on or stay off.
Depending on the water level, the level indicator lamp will glow
orange or green. Above the last level but below 1/3 the lamp will glow
orange, above that it glows green.
