Chapter 2 Basic Setup & Configuration

L2TP

Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) is a tunneling protocol used to

support virtual private network. L2TP is original from Cisico

s Layer

2 Forwarding (L2F) and Microsoft

s Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol

(PPTP). L2TP provides additional security features other than PPTP. L2TP

acts as data link layer protocaol for tunneling network traffic between

clients and VPN server over an Internet. It builds up Point-to-Point

Protocol (PPP) sessions within an L2TP tunnel.

WAN IP Address

Please choose the service provided by your ISP.

IP Address

Enter the IP address provided by your ISP.

Subnet Mask

Enter the Subnet Mask address provided by your ISP.

GateWay

Enter the default Gateway address provided by your ISP.
