8.2 RESET OF DVD/CD DRIVE DATA
If the Traverse mechanism (TM) mounted on the DVD/CD drive of this unit is replaced, the data for the new
TM must be written to the main flash memory (on the SMAI
N
Assy) of the drive unit.
The procedure for entering this mode is the same as for entering Service mode.

GE key is pressed, the USB STOP
LED for the selected drive will light in red. Initialization is
completed when the LED goes dark.
Reenter Service mode (by turning the unit off then back on
again) to confirm that the value for accumulated hours of LD
light emission of the initialized drive is reset to zero.
After the TM is replaced for repair, if you wish to erase past
error logs of the unit, copy user data to a USB storage
device, referring to “Backing Up User Data” in the operation
manual. Then perform factory-reset, referring to [3] of “6.3
SERVICE MODE FOR THE CO
N

IT.” Then copy the
data on the USB storage device back to the memory.
